Day 2 results from the State Team Qualifying Tournament at South Dakota’s Lake Oahe.  Fishing is fine, but there are definitely some issues running around on this large body of water.  Contestants have been facing multiple boat-related issues from lower units to body damage.

Colorado BASS Nation President Audrey McKenney reports that two boaters had lower unit problems this week; others had issues with oil pumps, aerators, starters, fuel filters, and bumper-boat body damage.  This may be the year with the most issues with mechanical problems, but it doesn’t seem to be a problem catching bass, even if you have to rent a walleye boat to do it.  Audrey says the good news is, “Everyone is still fishing.”

Day two saw Larry Triplett move into the first place Boater spot with a limit weighing in at 14.48 pounds, anchored by the biggest bass of the day at 3.98, for a Day Two total of 29.01.  Larry is followed by CBN Conservation Director Todd Gentzel who now has a total of 28.66 pounds, with Derek Phillips close behind at 28.62.

On the Co-Angler side, Chuck Harrison moved up to the 1st Place spot with a total of 17.19 pounds, followed in 2nd by Howard Wong at 16.75 and Mark Faber making a jump to 3rd at 16.03.  Herb Turner landed the largest bass of Day 2 with a 3.42 pound fish.
