Lucky Anglers Start the Hunt

Frank_V_arrives_at_Grand.jpgThe first day of official practice for the Colorado Bass Nation State Team Qualifying Tournament is done and anglers searching for a spot on the 2015 State Team have begun the search for the best that Grand Lake O’ Cherokees has to offer.

Beads.jpgAudrey McKenney, President of the Colorado Bass Nation, sent in the picture of the “Lucky Beads” handed out this year.  Beads are meant to combine ‘winners’ to bring fishing luck to this year’s participants.  Designed with AFC Champion Denver Bronco colors and anglers’ favorite soft plastic lures, Audrey encourages anglers to, “Dream big or go home!”

And Grand Lake, OK can provide plenty of BIG to be had.  The lake has always been a favorite of Colorado Bass Nation anglers and has hosted this event several times.  In the last few years the lake has become well know across the country and by nearly every national tournament organization as a true big bass destination.

Frank_V_pic_of_storm_clouds.jpgAudrey reports that today’s weather included high winds and light rain in the morning.  Angler Frank Villa posted on his Facebook page the lake-view picture of his arrival at Grand and the pictures of storm clouds around the host motel, Martins Landing.
