Larry T ready to start Day 3 Clear Lake Div 2015, ctsy bassmaster.com.jpg     Another fog delay this morning may have hurt a few anglers, but as usual the consistent fishermen rise to the top.  Only two anglers at the Clear Lake Divisional landed a limit of bass each day and Triplett was one of them, improving his standing each day and ending up in 3rd Place at the Final weigh-in, bringing in daily limits of: 17-9, 17-11, and 14-8.  Triplett’s final total weight was 49-12, only 1-2 behind overall leader Tim Johnston of MT who had 50-14.

ctsy Jeremiah S.jpg     Tim Johnston of MT reported on-stage that he, like a lot of others, used a LV-500 rattle bait. This is Johnston’s third trip to the National Championship and his second Western Divisional win in as many years.  Other anglers also reported using underspin jigs with small swimbait bodies, big swimbaits, drop-shots, and just plain “junk fishing” to search and find what many found to be elusive Clear Lake bass.  But, for some anglers Clear Lake did not disappoint as each day the leading limits were well over 20 pounds, even topping 30 pounds, with double-digit bass being caught.  The Big Bass of the event was caught on Day 2, an 11-0 largemouth.
