Ft. Carson Kid’s Fishing Day was formed in co-operation with the Colorado BASS Nation and other organizers as a way to support the service men and women and their families.  This event takes the kids of serving military personnel for a few hours of fishing fun at Pueblo Reservoir.

Colorado Signs-on a New Conservation Director

T Gentzel 4.16 Mead WR crAM.jpg     After many years of dedicated service in the position Todd Gentzel has stepped down and George Mauries has agreed to become the new Colorado BASS Nation Conservation Director.

The deed is done and a State Team roster has been determined.  The grass-roots anglers at the State Team Qualifying Tournament (STQT) have fished hard in three days of competition for the chance to represent the Colorado BASS Nation at the next BASS Nation Western Regional, where they will then compete for spots at a National Championship!

The top anglers make a few moves on the 2nd day of the event at Lake Tenkiller, OK, as the slot limit plays a factor.  All fish between 13- and 16-inches must be released, so anglers must find the sweet-spot between bigger fish and finding a limit to bring in.

Right in the middle of Tornado Alley, where a recent storm caused much damage, the Colorado BASS Nation 2016 State Team Qualifying Tournament is under way at Oklahoma’s Lake Tenkiller, and it’s providing a wide variety of bass sizes to the competitors.  Tenkiller is a new lake for this event and has a slot limit where you have to release all fish between 13 and 16 inches, meaning some limits can be very small while decent-sized and kicker-sized bass can really separate the field.  Just fishing for a limit won’t get you to the next level this time!

Nation Western Regional presented by Magellan Outdoors.  Nate Caldwell takes the top spot for the Team on the Boater side and John Santos takes 1st Place among the Co-anglers.
