Fighting Fishsticks: aka The Northern Colorado Junior Bassmasters

Posted by admin on December 28, 2011

Our Junior Club is sponsored by the Centennial Bass Club of Northern Colorado (www.centennialbass.com), with members acting as mentors and educators for our young anglers.  Junior members gain skills by participating in meetings and tournaments along with helping our adult club with conservation projects and other events, including sportsman expos and adult tournaments.

Juniors starting at 8 years of age are allowed to join our club.  We have four qualifying tournaments per year where our juniors from 11-18 years old compete to fish in the Colorado Junior State Tournament.  There are two age divisions at the State level: 11-14 and 15-18.  They compete to be part of the Colorado State Team for the following year.

Along with our tournaments we also like to have parents come along with their kids and we can teach the parents how to teach their kids to fish.  We see this as a win-win situation; we not only promote our youth fishing, and possibly gain some future ambassadors to our sport, but we can also gain some adults to help promote our sport too!

For more information about our the Fighting Fishsticks Junior Club please feel free to email us.
